The rules.
What your money buys
Pushes are voluntary purchases of visibility and participation: your name, link, and message on a live fight, and movement of your side's total. There are no pots, no prizes, no payouts, and no refunds for being on the losing side. A completed payment is what moves the bar; abandoned checkouts never count. This is not gambling, wagering, or an investment of any kind.
How fights work
A fight runs on a clock, 72 hours by default. When it ends, the side with the larger total takes the category belt. Equal totals at the bell is a draw and the belt stays put. Champions can be challenged; finished fights can be rematched for the same fee as a challenge.
Fighters, claims, and ducks
A fighter is a product website or an X handle. Clicks from a fight page go straight to the submitted destination with no query parameters added. The named rival can claim their corner by proving control of that destination: websites verify automatically with a claim token, X handles go through review. A verified owner may instead decline the fight within 24 hours of publication; the fight is voided, all payments are refunded, and the duck goes on the public record.
Challenges and review
Product challenges cost $10 and are reviewed before publishing. We reject fights that target individuals rather than products, or that exist to harass. Rejected and voided fights are refunded in full. House fights (frameworks, cities, ideas) are run by us and skip review.
Not allowed
No defamatory, hateful, or illegal content in names, links, or messages. No impersonation. No fights involving private individuals. We remove content and void fights that break these rules at our discretion; pushes on a voided fight are refunded.
The boring part
All amounts are in USD and processed by Stripe. We never see your card details. Fight totals reflect money pushed, not product quality. Counters run on our own database and are reported as counted. Contact: fights@thebelt.lol.
